    ​FANR launched series initiatives and events

    Year of Zayed

    The year 2018 marks 100 years since the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, who passed away in 2004.

    In order to commemorate this historic national occasion, H​​is Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, declared that 2018 will be officially known in the UAE as the Year of Zayed.

    FANR launched the “Give Back” Initiative

    Year of Giving

    His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, declared 2017 to be the 'Year of Giving' to promote a culture of giving back to the community, and enhancing the spirit of volunteering and national loyalty.

    In this year FANR launched the ‘Give Back’ initiative; an internal volunteering programme that encouraged its staff to donate their time and use their skills through self-led workshops where they were able to transfer knowledge between each other.

    FANR launched the Federal Reading Club

    Year of Reading

    In 2016 FANR launched the first ever Federal Reading Club exclusively for federal government employees to foster a culture of reading within the government sector.

    The Federal Reading Club offers federal government employees the opportunity to become members so that they can enjoy an array of activities that promote reading and the exchange of ideas. club allows the employees to meet their favourite authors, and discuss the latest books and trends in a comfortable setting.

    FANR launched the Innovation Challenge

    Year of Innovation

    FANR has been actively participating in the nationwide move to innovate under the directives of His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai.

    In 2016 FANR took part in the Innovation Week by launching a variety of activities such as the Innovation Challenge; a competition open to prompt FANR staff to discover new innovative solutions for the organisation and the industry as a whole.
