Software overview

This software has been developed and programmed by FANR based on the shielding calculation methodology stated in the National Council on Radiation Protection Report No. 147 on Structural Shielding Design for Medical X-Ray Imaging Facilities, and in line with the recommendations set out by the International Atomic Energy Agency Safety Series Reports No. 39 on Applying Radiation Safety Standards in Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Procedures Using X Rays. The software performs calculations for different X-ray modalities by using related variants such as occupancy type, distance, type of shielding material, number of patient’s undertaken radiological procedures, and desirable design target goal for classified areas.
